CITY OF PINE LAKE PUBLIC HEARING AND ADOPTION 2018 BUDGET

The November 13, 2017 regularly scheduled City Council meeting has been postponed to November 15, 2017.

The City of Pine Lake will hold a public hearing on the proposed FY 2018 Budget at the City Council meeting on November 15, 2017 to be held in the Council Chambers, 459 Pine Drive, Pine Lake GA beginning at 7:00 pm.

The 2018 Budget is scheduled for adoption at the Council meeting on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

The FY 2018 Budget will be available for public inspection at City Hall, 462 Clubhouse Drive during normal business hours beginning November 6, 2017.

MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017

PUBLIC NOTICE:

2017 MUNICIPAL ELECTION

The City of Pine Lake will hold municipal elections for three City Council seats on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.  These seats are currently held by Jean Bordeaux, Brandy Hall and Augusta Woods.  Voting for SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) will also be on the ballot.

Candidates who are elected will serve for four years.

Polls will be open on Election Day, November 7th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Polling site will be at the Pine Lake Clubhouse, located at 300 Clubhouse Drive.  Advanced voting locations will be established in accordance with State law.

Call to Order Mayor Melanie Hammet at 7:00 pm. – Council members Megan Pulsts, Jean Bordeaux, Augusta Woods, and Brandy Hall. Also present was City Administrator Valerie Caldwell and Chief of Police Sarai Y’Hudah-Green. City Attorney Laurel Henderson was not present.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Hammet.

Announcements/Communication

Adoption of AgendaHammet amended the agenda by adding Update of Co-Working Space to New Business.  Pulsts motioned to adopt the amended agenda; 2nd by Woods. 4-0.

  • Discussion of SPLOST for 10/25/17 Town Hall Meeting – There was discussion and sample questions and answers of this item with no action taken.

 NEW BUSINESS

  • Decision about Rental Grilling – There will not be any outside grills brought onto rental properties.  Bordeaux motioned for the fee to rent the city grill for $50.00 for events with the renter supplying their charcoal; 2nd by Pulsts. 4-0
  • 2017 Work Progress- There was not any action taken on this item
  • Co-Working Space Initiative – The rate for Co-Working Space at the Club House shall be $50 per month and will begin on November 8, 2017 and end December 31, 2017.

Waiver of Rental Fee For use of Event Space (Re-Post from 10/6/17)

To all Pine Lake Residents:

It’s that time of year again to apply for use of event space!  Applications will be accepted until 4:30 pm on November 1, 2017.  Successful applicants will have use of the facility with the rental fee being waived. Deposit and cleaning fees will apply.

WAIVER OF RENTAL FEE FOR

USE OF EVENT SPACE

Residents of Pine Lake are invited to apply for waiver of rental fee for the use of event space.  To apply for use of the facilities between January 1st – June 30th of the calendar year your application must be received by 4:30 PM on November 1st.  For facility use between July 1st – December 31st the application must be received by 4:30 PM on May 1st.

Please note that waiver is for the rental fee only.  The $200 deposit and cleaning fees of $40 will apply.

Applicants will need to fill out the attached form in its entirety and submit to City Hall.  You can submit in person during regular office hours, drop it through the slot in the door or e-mail it in at missyevarner@pinelakega.com .  E-mail will be checked at 4:30 PM on the closing date.  Applications received after 4:30 PM cannot be considered.

Once the time period has closed staff will score the applications based upon the information provided in the application form.  Every effort is made to accommodate requests, however the space is limited due to the increase in rentals.  Successful applicants will be announced at the next council meeting.  You will then need to fill out the Facility Use Agreement, and submit your deposit and cleaning fee to City Hall.  Your date(s) are not placed on the reservation calendar until the deposit, cleaning fee and Facility Use Agreement are received by City Hall.

If you wish to appeal the decision of Staff, please notify the City Clerk’s office of your intent to appeal no later than 7 days prior to the next council meeting so that you can be placed on the Council Agenda.
