The 2016 Pine Lake MAPMAKERS Grant

The Pine Lake Municipal Arts Panel (The MAP) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2016 MAPMAKERS Grant.

Pine Lake is a city of creatives: musicians, writers, dancers, comedians, sculptors, potters, poets, and performers of every kind. Our local government, lead by many elected artists, holds the community’s collective and individual imagination in high esteem.

 The $500 award will go to a local artist of merit. This inaugural grant will be in the handcrafts category with the recipient determined by selected non-local judges who are professionals in the field.

 We intend for the MapMakers Grant to be awarded in a different arts category each year to represent the many imaginations living in our municipality.

This year’s category of Handcrafts– for the purposes of this grant within the city of Pine Lake, the “handcrafts” category includes the following: jewelry design, pottery, fabric, paper, yarn, and textile arts, figurine design. Applications will be accepted through April 30th, 2016; Grant Award announced by May 20th, 2016. Award recipient will be notified by email.


 Eligibility requirements: must be a Pine Lake resident for a minimum of 12 months. Please submit a utility bill or profile to document residency.

*How will this grant be of use to you in achieving your artistic goals? (500 word limit)

*What aspect of your work are you currently exploring? (800 word limit)


Please note:

Award recipient is required to submit a brief report (1 to 2 pages) by November 20th, 2016 detailing the work accomplished/goals achieved utilizing the funds from this grant award. Recipient may submit photographs or other digital documentation.
